В его образовании принимают участие различные бактерии, которые формируют зубной налет на поверхности зубов. Если налет сохраняется на эмали в течение более 12 дней, он постепенно подвергается процессу минерализации посредством пропитывания солями и прочно прикрепляется к поверхности зуба, образуя зубной камень. Целью проведенного исследования являлось изучение возможности использования комплекса томатной пасты и клюквенного сока в качестве антибактериального средства для санации ротовой полости и удаления зубного камня у человека и животных. Для получения комплекса томатной пасты и клюквенного сока плоды томата по отдельности промывали водой и гомогенизировали путем перетирания. Гомогенизированную массу центрифугировали для разделения, образовавшуюся томатную пасту и клюквенный сок смешивали до получения однородной массы. С помощью конфокальной лазерной сканирующей микроскопии было показано, что смесь, состоящая из томатной пасты и клюквенного сока в соотношении 1:1, способствует разрушению биопленок золотистого стафилококка и изолятов Streptococcus sp., полученных из ротовой полости, и приводит к гибели этих бактерий в составе биопленки (зубного налета). Кроме того, экспозиция зубного камня комплекса томатной пасты и клюквенного сока в течение 20 дней приводит к разрушению зубного камня более чем на 80%. Таким образом, смесь томатной пасты и клюквенного сока может быть перспективным антибактериальным и очищающим средством для гигиены полости рта.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Tartar is a key factor in developing such dental diseases as caries, gingivitis, and periodontitis. Tartar results from dental plaque formed by accumulation of bacteria in the tooth cavity. Following the period of about 12 days, unremoved plaque mineralizes in contact with salts, forming tartar firmly attached to the tooth surface. Tartar in the oral cavity increases the risk of inflammatory processes. In this study, we aim to assess the feasibility of using tomato paste and cranberry juice in combination as an antibacterial and plaque-removing agent. In order to obtain a mixture of tomato paste and cranberry juice, fruits were washed separately with clean water at room temperature and homogenized by grinding in a mortar. The resulting homogenized mass was centrifuged for separation. The as-obtained tomato paste and cranberry juice were mixed to yield a homogeneous mass. Confocal laser scanning microscopy showed that a mixture of tomato paste and cranberry juice in a 1:1 ratio promotes the destruction of Staphylococcus aureus and some Streptococcus species, thus exhibiting high antimicrobial activity against these bacteria. In addition, exposure of tartar to the tested mixture of tomato paste and cranberry juice for 20 days led to an 86% destruction of tartar.
